On the final day in Israel we will be doing something new. Today sees us visit a fancy goldfish farm. The varieties the farm will be showcasing is minly Orandas with a few Ryukins mixed in. This is an exciting new product for us to offer. All Orandas and Ryukins are hand selected in the same way we select the koi. The quality is just superb and is definitely competing with Orandas being offered from Japan ,Thailand and China . Overall this years June trip has been a huge success and we have got some really stunning koi. Another lovely morning in Israel. Today we visit Gan Shmuel to do our koi hand picking. This farm has quite alot of koi for us to buy. Lior from Gan Shmuel has personally selected some koi specially for us. On arrival we were greeted by the boss. Lior had pulled all the stops out for our visit the koi selection available were really high quality. The colours of the Kohaku especially strong along with great body shape. We also had spme amazing Long Fin Koi to choose from. These fish hd been prepared from a batch of koi being grown for next year. This is a real privilege and without the strong working relationship with the farm this would of never happened. After a quite a few hours we finalised our koi buying we have purchased some really high quality koi. Before we left the farm we were given a tour through there breeding facilities. As the farm had only just finished the spawning we got the oppotunity to see some larvae for future growing. Here there is some Shusui and Goromo still waiting to hatch with a small percentage already hatched. Todays trip has been a huge success and everything the farm had done is beyond our expectation. Tomorrow is out final day which takes us to the best fancy goldfish supplier in Israel. Here we will get the oppotunity to hand select through there highest quality Orandas and Ryukin
Another fine morning in Israel ready to start the hand picking. First stop this morning is to pre visit Lior and the team at Gan Shmuel. With the Pre visit complete at Gan Shmuel and some excellent koi seen here we now move on excited for the Madan Koi buying .Given as we have done our pre visit we already know what fish are available. From our pre visit we learned that Madan Koi have a huge number of fish available to choose from. The quality as always is top notch. Madan Koi offer some very special and amazing koi. Large amounts of fish we have chosen really stand out and are at the highest quality. Here are a few examples again of koi selected by us today. Taking a tour around the packing facilities. The packing house and tanks seem endless all fully stocked with koi and goldfish. Now its time to select the big boys and girls. All jumbo koi are held in a seperate building and only select few people get the chance to purchase these koi. With so few finely selected koi grown to jumbo size the quality is outstanding. All in all today has been yet nother very busy and expensive day for us but the koi are amazing quality. Thank you to all at Madan Koi farm for making our trip such a good one. Tomorrow sees us at Gan Shmuel where Lior and his team have been busy preparing koi for us to choose from. Our first day of the hand pick trip in Israel . Today we will be pre visiting Madan Koi farm and then on to Dag Noy to commence the buying . Both farms have lots of koi to offer. The pre visit give us chance to view the quality of koi we will be selecting from when we come back to Madan to start picking. Here you can see some pictures of the packing house at Madan koi. Pictures dont really show the size of this system . All koi are harvested from natural mud ponds out side then sorted into size and quality. After a brief browse at the koi we then set off to visit Hazorea koi farm . It was just a quick visit and then we set off to start buying from Dag Noy. Looking at the temperature its going to be a tough one today. As always the fish from Dag noy are very special. Here are just a few to wet the appetite. More good news came when we got shown some Longfin Koi to hand pick which we didnt expect. These are just a few of the many fantastic koi we have purchased today from Dag Noy . Big thanks again to Dag noy for the koi they prepared.
Its the start of our June Hand Pick Trip. Its still not too late to get any last minute requests for any koi that you may be searching for. Our first stop tomorrow is Dag Noy looking at the weather its gonna be slightly hot . Tomorrow we will be looking for some Doitsu fish as well as what this farm is famous for the stunning Sankes and Goshiki. Updates and progress along with videos and pictures will be posted in tomorrows blog .
To be continued....... After a few very busy months our stocks are now at an all time low. The June trip can't come soon enough! Once again we are offering our customers the opportunity to request any variety they are after. The blog will also be updated regularly throughout the trip so stay tuned to see what we get up to on the June handpick buying trip. This buying trip will be slightly busier than previous trips, we have extended our stay in Israel to maximise the time we can spend selecting Koi Carp at each farm. We will be purchasing some very large Koi like the ones we purchased in January and will also be on the look out for anything unique and interesting. As we did on the last trip, if there is any variety or type of Koi you were specifically looking for, please contact us. 01253 932377 or use the contact form. As well as selecting the highest grade Koi Carp available, we will also be hand selecting high grade Fancy Goldfish such as Oranges, Ryukin and Ranchus. This is a new achievement for Israel and the quality of Goldfish coming from these farms are at a very high standard and certainly will be competing with the Chinese and Japanese fancy Goldfish. Having already been in contact with the farms prior to our visit we have requested some varieties already, but if there are any special fish that you may also be looking for please get in touch and we can certainly add it to the list. All being well the first few fish shall start to go on sale in early July and for any customers that have requests they will be done before the Koi go on sale. All the farms are currently very busy preparing Koi for our visit and we have been told that there are a very large quantity of fish to select from. The sizes we normally hand pick are from 8" upwards however, due to high demand for varieties of smaller koi we are also going to be spending some time selecting koi below 8". Be on the lookout for updates on Facebook and on the blog! |
